About

Barr & Barr was founded by Joseph R. Barr with the vision to provide "Personal Service to All Owners and Architects". He saw the role of a true construction manager as a partner providing expert advice on costs, schedules, and systems.

Today, Joseph's philosophy remains central to how we do business. Led by the third generation of the Barr family, our ability to understand each client's goals and objectives and to seamlessly integrate into their operations is a key reason why we have become one of the Northeast's most respected construction firms, and the builder of choice for many clients.

Barr & Barr operates eight full-service offices located throughout the Northeast. These offices manage 40-60 projects a year that range in value from $100,000 to over $100,000,000 and have an in-depth experience building for academic, healthcare, research, commercial, and historical groups who maintain their own campus facilities.

Our construction background includes new facilities, phased renovations, and historical restoration. We have extensive experience building in and around occupied sites. Our knowledge allows us to manage these sensitive projects with minimal disruption to the surrounding facilities and ongoing operations. Barr & Barr has been consistently recognized as one of the nation's Top 100 CM-at-Risk Firms and Top 400 Contractors by ENR (Engineering News-Record) magazine.

Barr & Barr employs more than 300 experienced construction professionals, including fully staffed in-house preconstruction and MEP departments that support our field personnel. As an employee-owned company, our assets are managed by those closest to the work. Each of us is committed to building strong working partnerships that create the trust and cooperation that are vital to each project's success

“From this experience working with Barr & Barr, I have acquired an appreciation for the role of a construction management firm in keeping a substantial building project on budget and on schedule. I recommend highly Barr & Barr to anyone considering hiring a construction management firm."
