Manufacturing (Reactor) Building
Building 8 is a three‑story, purpose‑built manufacturing facility that supports high‑hazard chemical reactor processes associated with microelectronics, medical devices and automation. The building integrates manufacturing, quality control, and administrative functions within a single, highly engineered structure, constructed in partnership with the client on a design-build basis.
The process areas are designed to meet stringent safety, quality control, and performance requirements associated with advanced microchip fabrication. Much of the facility is classified as Class I, Division 1. Given the end-use purpose, the superstructure design included reinforced concrete enclosures, damage-limiting construction, explosion venting, containment systems, and multiple fire suppression systems. Additional safety and reliability features include gas monitoring and detection systems, as well as emergency power and uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Along with core/shell considerations, complete fit-out of the facility included various specialty equipment, piping, and controls installation on a fast-tracked schedule. Industry-leading control technology was developed and installed to fully automate the facility.
In addition to the reactor and process areas, the building includes a range of ancillary spaces such as offices, a quality control laboratory, two clean rooms, a control room, and building support areas. Amenities and support functions include an elevator, dumbwaiter, men’s and women’s restrooms, and dedicated utility areas housing compressed air systems, process chillers, domestic and process water systems, fire protection infrastructure, electrical distribution, and chemical air scrubbers.
Support and Office Building
Building 9 is a 3,500‑square‑foot, single‑story prefabricated “Butler‑style” structure designed to support employee comfort and administrative needs. The building includes locker rooms, a café and/or break area, and additional office space to complement the adjacent manufacturing operations.
