Congratulations to Barr & Barr’s Quarterly Safety Champion

Congratulations to Barr & Barr’s Quarterly Safety Champion Shalynn Stewart! Ms. Stewart is a 22-year member of LIUNA Local 77 in Ewing, NJ, where she has proudly worked alongside several of her uncles and cousins. She was nominated by James Moore, Assistant Superintendent, at Barr & Barr’s Deborah Heart & Lung Lesser Roof project. Those who work with Shalynn describe her character and work ethic as exactly what’s required on jobsites. Shaylnn is responsible for maintaining two complex jobsites, as well as daily checks on all scaffolds, roofing safety systems and housekeeping. She also logs and reports any PPE issues immediately to the onsite supervising staff. Amongst all else, she maintains a positive, continuous relationship with hospital employees. She is well respected even amongst the healthcare employees because they know Shaylnn runs a tight ship and keeps everything in order, not only for the contractor but also the client. Finally, Shaylnn is a hard worker that’s continuously seeking improvement – if she’s not working on Saturdays, she’s taking classes. She is well trained with over 20 credited safety courses from her local union hall and she earned her Built Rite Certification despite her demanding project assignments. Shalynn’s desire, knowledge and commitment to Safety are an inspiration to everyone around her!
