Barr & Barr is proud to have taken part in a meaningful and historic milestone at the Marian Fathers’ Monastery project with the raising and blessing of the cross over the future monastery on Eden Hill, held on April 10 just ahead of Divine Mercy Weekend at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. It was a historic moment as the Marian Fathers and Marian Helpers gathered to mark the occasion. Blessed with prayers and a relic of the True Cross, the cross now stands as a lasting symbol of faith, visible to pilgrims and the surrounding community alike.
The cross raising marked a critical milestone on the journey toward completion of the monastery, a project many years in the planning and now progressing toward completion later this summer. Once complete, the monastery will serve as home to the Marian Fathers stationed in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, supporting the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, the U.S.A. headquarters of the Marian Congregation’s Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy Province, and the Association of Marian Helpers.
As construction manager, Barr & Barr is honored to help steward a project of such enduring significance. Our role extended beyond building and into service, exemplified by Superintendent Chris Walsh, who went above and beyond his project responsibilities during Divine Mercy Weekend. Chris supported the National Shrine’s mission by actively assisting with the collection process and working closely alongside the Marian Fathers team throughout the weekend. We are grateful to partner with the Marian Fathers as this important project continues to take shape.
